Segafredo & the production
Segafredo produces the coffee itself and controls the entire production chain. It all starts with the coffee plant. These are grown from a seed to a full-fledged plant. The plants are planted in the places around the equator between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. Here the warm, humid climate is ideal for the plant. The arabica plant is grown at an altitude between 900 and 1200 meters while the Robusta is planted below 500 meters above sea level.
The picking is partly automatic and partly by hand. After this, each fruit is extracted and processed into a quality bean. The beans are then selected to get the best blends. This is followed by the roasting and mixing. After roasting and opinion, the beans are ground. This depends on the consumer's way of brewing coffee. For example, with filter coffee it is important that the grind is balanced, with the Moka pot it must be medium, while for the espresso the coffee must be very fine. Finally, the coffee is wonderfully packaged in an unmistakable Segafredo wrapper.
