Doritos
Doritos
When Hernan Cortez conquered Mexico in 1521, the valuable loot was more than just the Aztec gold. He saw the Aztecs enjoying a tasty snack – the tortilla! Cortez took this snack with him from his trip and introduced it to the rest of the world. In 1966 Frito-Lay introduced the tortilla chips under the name Doritos, which means 'little pieces of gold' in Spanish.
